9 streetwear stores to check out in Charlotte

You can find streetwear clothes and the latest sneakers at several local shops.

Change up your style by shopping from local spots that house big-name streetwear brands, plus items from local designers. Here are nine streetwear shops to check out in Charlotte.

Current Nostalgia 

A locally owned clothing brand and shop in Camp North End. 

Inside you’ll find shoes, apparel and accessories, some global brands and the Current Nostalgia line. Expect household brand names like Supreme, Nike, Adidas and Yeezy. You’ll also find niche labels, such as Dutch brands Patta and Parraand Stüssy.

Location/hours: In the Keswick building next to Seemingly Overzealous at 701 Keswick Ave.

  • It’s open Wednesday and Thursday 12-7pm, Friday and Saturday 12-8pm, Sunday 12-5pm. Closed Monday and Tuesday.

A fitted hat shop located in Camp North End.

The retailer features custom New Era and Mitchell & Ness hats, plus officially licensed products from the MLB, MBA and NFL. They also offer an extended product line with shirts, shorts and authentic sports jerseys.

Location/hours: FITTEDS is next to Current Nostalgia at 701 Keswick Ave.

  • It’s open Tuesday through Thursday 2-8pm, Friday 5-10pm and Saturday 2-8pm.

Woosleys Shoes 

A sneaker shop in Ballantyne.

The store has a wide selection of sneakers including brands like Nike, Jordan, New Balance and Yeezy. For apparel, you’ll find brands like Supreme, Essentials and Bape. They also offer the option to sell and trade in-store.

Location/ hours: 16631 Lancaster Hwy, Suite 103.

  • It’s open Monday through Saturday 12-7pm and Sunday 12-6pm.

FarReach Vintage

A vintage streetwear shop in Third Ward.

If vintage is your style, you’ll appreciate some of the products here. FarReach has pieces ranging from the ’50s to the early 2000s that you can incorporate into your wardrobe. They sell shirts, hats and accessories. 

Location/hours: 604 W Morehead St.

  • It’s open Monday through Saturday 12-7pm and Sunday 12-5pm. 

Black Diamond

A shop with local clothing brands in Plaza Midwood.

This store sells a variety of clothing collections designed by locals including HELLA SCARS. They also sell accessories. 

  • Bonus: They recently added a dispensary, with CBD and THCA items, in the back half of the store.  

Location/hours: 2121 Central Ave.

  • Black Diamond is open Tuesday through Thursday 12-8pm, Friday and Saturday 12-10pm and Sunday 12-6pm.

Elite Boutique

A recently opened shoe store in Plaza Midwood.

Expect a range of sneaker options from Nike, Jordan and New Balance. For clothing, you’ll find brands like Supreme, Gallery Dept and Denim Tears.

Location: Elite Boutique has two locations, 2600 Central Ave. Suite H in Plaza Midwood and 1827 Dickerson Blvd in Monroe.

  • It’s open Sunday and Monday 12-6pm, Tuesday and Wednesday 12-7pm and Thursday through Saturday 11am-8pm. 

Street Commerce

A high-end streetwear shop in First Ward.

Inside you’ll find pieces from a list of luxury brands like Rick Owens, Balenciaga and Gucci. Items are pre-owned designer pieces from apparel to accessories that you can work into your outfit.   

Location: 325 E 9th St. It’s open Tuesday through Sunday 12-7pm.

Social Status 

A popular streetwear shop with nine locations across the U.S. including in Plaza Midwood.

This store offers a range of popular streetwear clothing brands plus accessories and shoes. They also have an event space in the back half of the store called BeSocial for community events.

Location: 1519 Central Ave. 

  • It’s open Monday through Saturday 12-7pm and Sunday 12-5pm.  

Of note: The owner of Social Status is under investigation for alleged money laundering, WBTV reported. Social Status responded by defending its business following the report.

Request Boutique

A sneaker boutique with a long list of popular shoe options in Cherry.

This store offers more than 40 brands. Plus, there’s a large shoe selection to browse through. Shoe brands include Addidas, Nike, Jordan and Yeezy.

Location/hours: Request has two locations, 209 S Kings Dr. #201 in Cherry and 5506 New Fashion Way at Charlotte Premium Outlets.

  • It’s open Monday through Saturday 11am-8pm and Sunday 12-7pm.
