Axios Charlotte announced its 2023 Power Players at a swanky reception at Mint Museum Uptown on Wednesday, November 29.
See the full list of Charlotte’s most powerful leaders and read about them here.
What happened: Close to 200 people gathered to celebrate this year’s Power Players, and listen to exclusive interviews with winners like Mad Miles Run Club founder Cornell Jones and Charlotte legend and former Bank of America CEO Hugh McColl.
1 big scoop: Jones told Axios’ McKenzie Rankin during an interview at the event he plans to open an indoor track facility in Charlotte in the next 5-10 years.
1 great quote: McColl told Axios’ Michael Graff, “When I first came to Charlotte, I thought it was the most boring place in the world.” Decades later, a lot has changed, but it’s still a great place to raise a family, he says.
Here are photos from the event.
Thanks to our event photographer Laura Wolff for these great shots.
