You don’t have to fly out to Napa or drive up to Charlottesville to experience fabulous vineyards.
If you’re looking for a weekend day trip, head to a nearby vineyard for an afternoon in the sun with great local wine, tours and delicious food. Here are 10 vineyards within an hour drive of Charlotte.
Of note: These vineyards are listed in no particular order.
Veronét Vineyards & Winery
If you stop by this beautiful vineyard this fall, don’t skip the apple spiced sangria (filled with chardonnay, apple cider, ginger ale, sliced apples, cinnamon, clove and allspice) for $12 a glass. The regular menu has a range of sparkling, red and white wines.
Prices: Flights $20; wine by the glass $9/$11; wine by the bottle $24-$36.
- The on-site market sells grab-and-go items including a charcuterie picnic box ($22) and has a limited menu with a bruschetta and ricotta bowl ($12); fruit and cheese board ($28); and a giant charcuterie board ($49).

Cauble Creek Vineyard
Cauble Creek specializes in muscadine wines, ranging from malbec to sauvignon blanc.
Prices: There’s a variety of tasting options that include a free souvenir glass.
Location: 700 Cauble Farm Road, Salisbury (45 minutes from Charlotte)
Hours: 11am-6pm Thursday-Saturday and 1-6pm Sunday.

Childress Vineyards
Go for a glass or two or really have a full vineyard day with a tour ($15), lunch at the Bistro and a wine flight. Childress also has music on the weekends May-October. Check the calendar here.
Prices: Wine flights $35; mimosa flights $38; slushie flights $38; wine by the bottle $13-$70.
- The Bistro has a variety of sandwiches, salads, sides and appetizers for under $20. Entrees are $18-$30.
Location: 1000 Childress Vineyard Road, Lexington (1 hour from Charlotte)
Hours: 10am-5pm daily.
Douglas Vineyards
Seasonal wines include fall harvest and pumpkin spice, available by the bottle or glass. Check their Facebook for food truck appearances and other events.
Prices: Wines are $6-$7 a glass and bottles are $14.95-$21.95.
Location: 7696 Freeze Road, Kannapolis (35 minutes from Charlotte)
Hours: 11am-6pm Friday-Saturday; 1-5pm Sunday.

Treehouse Vineyards
Treehouse Vineyards has live music, food trucks and wine dinners on select days. You can see the full lineup here. They also have fire pit rentals available 4-10pm on Fridays and Saturdays (October to March).
- Pits are $35 for two hours; $55 for four; or $75 for six. Call ahead to make a reservation.
Prices: Tastings are $12.
Location: 301 Bay St., Monroe (45 minutes from Charlotte)
Hours: 12-6pm Sunday-Thursday; 12-10pm Friday-Saturday.
Highlight: Just as the name implies, Treehouse Vineyards has three treehouses available as vacation rentals.
Rocky River Vineyards
This quaint vineyard has live music and other events like yoga and a fall festival. See the schedule here.
Prices: Tastings are $12 for eight samples; flights are $7; souvenir wine glasses are $3.
- They also offer seasonal wine slushies and when the temperature drops, they have mulled wine.
Location: 11685 Reed Mine Road, Midland (30 minutes from Charlotte)
Hours: 10am-6pm Tuesday-Saturday; 1-6pm Sunday.
Davasté Vineyards
This vineyard has wine by the glass, bottles, flights and tastings, plus beer options. You can keep up with events like yoga and live music on their Instagram.
Prices: Wines are $9-$10 by the glass; bottles are $19-$30.
Location: 155 Lytton Farm Road, Troutman (40 minutes from Charlotte)
Hours: 12-7pm Thursday; 12-9pm Friday-Saturday; 12-8pm Sunday.
Raffaldini Vineyards & Winery
This family-owned winery produces a range of dry Italian-style wines. They also host events to plan your visit around.
Prices: Wine tastings are $30 and bottles are $21-$105.
Location: 50 Groce Road, Ronda (one hour from north Charlotte)
Hours: 11am-5pm Monday, 11am-5pm Wednesday-Saturday and 12-5pm Sunday.
Piccione Vineyards
Piccione offers tasting flights, frosé and live music events every weekend. Plus, it’s dog-friendly, and they have additional wedding venue spaces.
Prices: Wine bottles are $23-$38.

Adagio Vineyards
This cozy winery offers educational tastings with small food samples, like cheese and chocolate, to help you understand what to pair specific wines with.
Prices: Wine tastings are $15 for eight wines and a souvenir glass; flights are $20.
Location: 139 Benge Dr., Elkin (just over an hour from Charlotte)
Hours: 12-5pm Monday, 12-5pm Thursday to Saturday and 1-5pm Sunday.
