The team behind Byron’s South End has opened an event venue at Camp North End.
What’s happening: Best Impressions Caterers, one of the region’s most well-known catering companies, recently opened The Revelry North End.
Why it matters: It’s Camp North End’s first dedicated event venue and the largest project for Best Impressions Caterers.
- After two years of paused or canceled celebrations, people want to party. As Charlotte grows, the need for more large event spaces does too, Best Impressions Caterers CEO and president Justin King tells Axios. The Revelry has roughly 40 events booked through the end of the year.
Details: The Revelry is located at 701 Keswick Ave., on the side of the railroad tracks near the Mount. The venue’s front door faces the railroad tracks, which served as the inspiration for the venue, King said.
- The vibe takes you back to the era when railroads were booming. The venue is filled with crystal chandeliers and nods to Camp North End’s history as a Model T Ford manufacturer.
- The 30,000-square-foot space fits 250-1,800 people.
- The Revelry includes lighting (you can make the room any color you want, King says), a built-in bar, pre-function space, a kitchen and four private rooms where bridal parties can get ready before a wedding, or where speakers can prepare before a corporate event.
Pricing: Pricing starts at $7,500 to rent the space. A premium event during peak season (spring and fall) at night costs around $15,000. Food and beverage ranges from $60-$400 per person.
- Contact the venue for more on pricing.
Between the lines: Bryon’s South End closed when its lease expired at the end of April, and King said it was time to say goodbye to the space. South End looks a lot different from when they opened more than two decades ago. Parking and delivery for the dining room service-style venue became increasingly difficult.
- Best Impressions’ offices remain in South End a few blocks down from the old Byron’s spot.
Of note: Redline Design Group was The Revelry’s architect. Rodgers Builders oversaw construction.
What’s next: King wants his company to have a presence in every Charlotte neighborhood. That may be returning to South End someday.
Take a look around The Revelry.
