A real Christmas tree will cost you more in Charlotte this year

State of play: Hey, inflation. We see you making everything more expensive this holiday season — from Thanksgiving dinner to Christmas trees.

Why it matters: A real Christmas tree is a must for some, and if you’re committed to the real deal, be prepared to spend 10% to 15% more this year, as WCNC reported.

By the numbers: Prices for 7-8-foot trees rose range from about $75 to as much as $130, depending on where you find a tree around the Charlotte area.

What they’re saying: “Shipping fuel, the price of diesel cost has gone up,” Brian Wyant, Snowflake Village President told WCNC.

My thought bubble: As a New Yorker who swore she would never have a fake tree, I’m here to tell you it’s OK to compromise and get a fake one. Don’t throw snowballs at me!
