Retail roundup: Fall store openings and announcements in Charlotte

You may already be starting to plan your holiday shopping.
Over the last several weeks, a handful of local boutiques and national retail chains alike have either opened or announced plans to open in the Charlotte area.

Heritage — which offers home decor, custom upholstery, antiques and interior design services — opened last month at 2025 Thrift Road Suite 101, off Freedom Drive.
Outdoor Voices, a popular athleisure brand offering women’s, men’s and unisex apparel, opened a few weeks ago in South End. It’s on the ground floor of the Lowe’s building, next to Allbirds (the popular shoe chain that opened earlier this year). This is the first North Carolina store for Austin-based Outdoor Voices.
Smitten Boutique recently opened in NoDa. Started by Kirstin and Gregor Martin 15 years ago in Chicago, Smitten offers custom invitations and paper goods, along with baby, paper, home and lifestyle-focused goods, per a recent statement from the family-owned business. This is the brand’s second store outside Chicago, and it’s located at 2824 N. Davidson.

Warby Parker, the popular eyeglass retailer, has opened its fifth North Carolina store at Birkdale Village in Huntersville.
Girl Tribe, the local women-owned brand, recently opened in SouthPark, in the spot formerly occupied by AIR Aerial Fitness space, near Barnes & Noble. Along with apparel and gifts, the shop has a photo booth. SouthPark store joins their flagship in South End and Girl Supply Co. in Birkdale Village.

Coco Leto will open in January in the Colony Shops, near Woo Skincare and Blo Blow Dry Bar. The locally owned boutique will carry children’s apparel, footwear, accessories, and gifts, all ranging in size from newborn to mid-teens. The shop will also offer services such as personal styling services, gift wrap and baby registries.
Goodwill will open a store in Ballantyne (8622 Camfield Street) on Nov. 18. The new 10,000-square-foot store will be a place where locals can shop for repurposed clothing or donate gently used items, according to a statement from Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont.
Tag Heuer is now open in SouthPark mall. The Swiss retailer sells high-end watches and other fashion accessories. It’s located near the Fountain Court.
