Bagel Boys serves authentic New York and New Jersey-style bagels.
Why it matters: Charlotte has an insatiable demand for better bagels. A New York-style bagel shop is a big win for our food scene.
Owners Nick and Heather Grove said their oldest son came up with the idea of opening a bagel store since, as New Jersyans, bagels are the number one way to start the day.
Heather Grove also says starting this business was an opportunity for her family to have more quality time together.

What to expect: Bagel Boys offers 18 bagel options plus 15 schmears and spreads.
- All bagels are shipped overnight from New York.
- The menu also has a selection of “Sammies” and “Baninis” (bagel paninis), as well as freshly brewed coffee, juices, kombuchas and teas.
What to order: The Bae Gal. It’s made with thick crispy bacon, fresh avocado, baby heirloom tomatoes, spinach and an egg served your way.
- If you want a twist, try the Bae Gal remix which is a deconstructed version of the popular Bae Gal sandwich served over breakfast potatoes instead of a bagel.
Space: The shop has indoor and outdoor seating.
Details: Bagel Boys is located at 7107 Waverly Walk Ave., Ste A2. Shop hours are from 7am to 2pm Tuesday through Sunday.
