Resident Culture's signature horchata.
Resident Culture, the all-day brewery, will now feature a full-service coffee bar and extend hours of operation.
The new addition is located inside the South End taproom and opens Sunday, June 26.
What’s happening: The new coffee shop will serve Mostra Coffee, a San Diego-based coffee shop, plus specialty drinks inspired by El Toro Bruto’s chef Hector Gonzalez-Mora.
- Drinks like the Dirty Horchata (a house-made horchata spiked with espresso topped with cinnamon sugar) is one of the specialty drinks coming to the shop.
Inspiration: Resident Culture manager, Charlie Sullivan was moved by Mostra’s blend of heritage and community commitment.
- Sullivan hopes this new addition will also bring the community together.
- “We want to do the same here by creating a space that celebrates amazing coffee, beer and food inspired by the cultures of the people who make it, like chef Hector González-Mora, whose food at El Toro Bruto has been a big influence on our coffee program,” said Sullivan.

The menu: We’re finally getting El Toro Bruto breakfast tacos, which gained a cult-like following when Gonzalez- Mora ran the Chilito Taco pop-up.
- They’ll also serve sandwiches and traditional Mexican pastries.
- Lunch service is offered seven days a week.
The vibe: This new opening will provide an easy transition between work and play.

- Amanda McLamb, Resident Culture CEO/Co-owner, sees this being the place where you can start the day with a tasty coffee with remote work and celebrate completing a heavy workload in the afternoon by grabbing a drink from the bar.
- “When we originally envisioned what this building could become, we saw a place that could be something for everyone, from early morning to late night,” McLamb explained.
