Velvet Taco opens Monday in South End with late-night weekend hours

What to expect: The South End restaurant will be among the largest Velvet Taco concepts to date with an interior space of 3,527 square feet and a patio space with an additional 689 square feet.

Menu: This location will have a variety of more than 20 tacos on the menu including a buffalo chicken taco, Nashville hot tofu taco, beer-battered cauliflower taco, Cuban pig taco and a shrimp & grits taco.

• There will also be a Weekly Taco Feature (cheekily abbreviated WTF) where new taco variations will be added to the menu for a limited amount of time.

💭 My thought bubble: With the recent opening of Condado Tacos and now Velvet Taco, there is a taco takeover happening in South End and we’re here for it. I see this Velvet Taco being a hot spot following late-night outings since it will be open until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.

Location: Find Velvet Taco at 2170 Hawkins St. next to Puttery and across the street from Sycamore Brewing.

Hours: 11am to 11pm Sunday-Wednesday, 11am to 12am on Thursdays and 11am to 2am Friday and Saturday.
