A new bar off Tryon in South End called Vinyl is in its soft opening phase.

What to expect: The fresh watering hole promises to be a destination for music, craft beverages and internationally inspired small plates.

Space: Located between Wooden Robot and Vana, Vinyl’s vibe falls somewhere between dive bar and club. It’s “more than the next trendy photo opp,” its Instagram page reads. But the interior is sleek enough for the ‘gram, too.

  • The 3,100-square-foot bar also has a patio outside which is expected to open in the next few weeks.

Drinks: Signature cocktails range in price from $12 to $15. There’s also draft and bottled beer and a selection of sparkling, white and red wine.

  • “Jenny from the Block” ($14) — rye whiskey, vermouth, bitters
  • “Big Poppa” ($13) — vodka, spiced orange cordial, lime, salted caramel coffee-infused amaro
  • “Superstition” ($15) — vodka, campari, kahlua, yellow chartreuse, bitters

  • Vinyl burger ($12) includes two patties, pickle chips, red onion, white American cheese and “Biggie sauce” on a brioche bun.
  • Peri Peri chicken sandwich ($13) with poultry from Winston-Salem-based Joyce Farms.
  • Garlic parmesan fries ($9) are served with garlic aioli.
  • Latin street corn ($8) comes with cilantro, Tajin and tortilla chips.
  • Falafel bites ($10) with arugula, lemon vinaigrette and a Greek yogurt sauce.

Hours: During the soft-opening phase, Vinyl will be open from 5pm-2am on Wednesday-Saturday.

Location: 1440 S. Tryon St., Ste. 105.
