Neighborhood: Marvin Creek in Waxhaw

Friday: Dinner and drinks in South End

We’d explore South End and head to Copper, this Indian fusion restaurant that we really like.

• The menu is so interesting that I get something different every time I’m there.
• I love trying the different curries they have.
• After that, we’d get a drink at Alchemy. It’s a spot in South End that has this cool, warehouse vibe to it.
• We’ve got a four-year-old at home so the late-night stuff probably isn’t on the table as much as it used to be.

Saturday: An animal lover’s afternoon

Breakfast: We go to Toast off of Rea Road a lot. They get the food out quickly, and they have coloring for the kids, so we’d go there for breakfast.

• I’m big on the Greek omelette, though sometimes I’ll get the banana nut flapjacks.
• My daughter loves their French toast.
• We’re also big fans of The Lights Cafe in Ballantyne.

Kid-friendly outing: Our daughter is really into animals and nature, so we’d either go to Discovery Place Nature in Dilworth or the Two By Two petting zoo in Monroe.

Uptown for dinner: I’m a big Thai food guy, so we’d go to Basil Thai in Uptown.

• I always get the Prik King.
• After dinner, we’d grab a drink at Church and Union.
• I love Moscow Mules, so I’d get the Ungrateful Mule.

Sunday: Brunch and football

Our brunch sendoff would be at First Watch.

• We’re big fans of that place.
• I’d get the avocado toast.
• If the Panthers were in town, we’d definitely try to get our guests to stay for the game, too.
