Popular Ohio-based Condado Tacos will open its first Charlotte location in South End on May 12, and it’s giving away free tacos to celebrate.
How it works: Everyone will receive a free taco with purchase on opening day and $5 margaritas all day long.
- Plus the first 100 people in line on opening day will win one free taco every week for a whole year through Condado’s “Year of Yum” giveaway.

What to expect: Condado Tacos has over 30 locations across the U.S., including outposts in Columbus, Cleveland, Nashville, Detroit and more. The Charlotte location is flooded with natural light and covered in bright murals featuring work from 12 local artists.
On the menu: Tacos range in price from $3.85 to $5.50, each with a variety of proteins, toppings and sauces so you can design the taco you want.
Location: Condado Tacos is located across the street from Flower Child at 1515 S. Tryon St. in the Dimensional Place building along with Blacow Burger and the forthcoming Early Girl Eatery, Salty Donut and more.

Hours: It’ll be open 11am-10pm on Sunday-Thursday and 11am-12am on Friday-Saturday.
