Spring is the perfect time for outdoor yoga. It’s not too hot, unless you’re into hot yoga, and winter’s chill has finally left the air.
Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or you don’t know the difference between warrior two and crow pose, there are plenty of spaces to practice.
- Here are 21 places to practice yoga outside this spring.
Of note: Classes are 60 minutes unless otherwise indicated. Many spaces beyond the yoga studio, such as breweries and museums offer indoor yoga, but this guide focuses on where you can do outdoor yoga.
1. Aura Rooftop
Head to the rooftop at JW Marriott in Uptown for yoga and aromatherapy and reconnecting to your breath with CorePower Yoga.
Cost: $25

2. Ballantyne
Head south for SweatNET’s Ballantyne Vibe Yoga + Mimosas with Dancing Lotus Yoga + Arts on April 16 at 10am.
- Expect DropSound headphones to help bring you closer to your 45-minute practice of yoga fused with dance, followed by mimosas.
Class will be at Ballantyne Park (11405 Community House Road).
Cost: $5 for SweatNET members; $15 for non-members. You must be 21 years old and have a valid ID for a mimosa. Details.
Then, on Earth Day, April 22, head to Ballantyne’s Backyard (11611 North Community House Road) for a 45-minute gentle flow class and meditation, using DropSound headphones.
- The class will be followed by a $5 showing of the Disney movie Wall-E, food trucks and brews.

3. Camp North End
Counterculture Club, an alcohol-free community, will lead a 60-minute yoga series at Camp North End every Sunday at 10am.

4. Cordial Rooftop
Dancing Lotus Yoga + Arts offers two classes at Cordial Rooftop at the AC Hotel by Marriott in SouthPark. Flow every Monday night a 6:30pm.

The ELEVATE practice combines grounding yoga poses and high-intensity exercises. It’s every Tuesday at 6:30pm.

5. Devil’s Logic Brewing
Head to Elizabeth for Devil’s Logic Brewhouse Yoga every Saturday at 10:30am.
Cost: $10; includes your Devil’s Logic drink of choice, and a donation to Habitual Roots, a nonprofit helping people foster positive self-care habits. Details.
6. Free Range Brewing
Every Sunday, Dancing Lotus Yoga + Arts leads a class at 10:30am with noise-isolating headphones.

7. Free Will Craft + Vine
Put on your noise-isolating headphones and ground down in NoDa with Dancing Lotus Yoga + Arts every Wednesday at 6:30pm.

8. Freedom Park
Habitual Roots will lead three yoga classes a week at Freedom Park in Dilworth under the island amphitheater pavilion:
- Monday and Wednesday at 6:30pm.
- Saturday at 9am.
Expect to discuss your intentions, experience and conscious awareness topics to build good self-care habits.

9. Giddy Goat
Head to Plaza Midwood for Morning Flow + Joe with Dancing Lotus Yoga + Arts every Thursday at 7am. It will be a gentle flow, meant to awaken you.

10. Harvey B. Gantt Center
Yoga on the Rooftop is every Sunday at 12:30pm, led by Sajeedah Jones, surrounded by skyline views.

11. Lenny Boy Brewing Co.
One Fest, by Dancing Lotus Yoga + Arts, will feature yoga, music, healing and arts on May 7 from 8:30am until 10pm. It will include more than 45 indoor and outdoor classes and workshops, plus a DJ glow yoga party, vendors, food trucks and more.
Cost: Tickets start at $30. Details.
Plus, you can practice yoga every Thursday at 7pm and Saturday at 10am at Lenny Boy. Classes are held outside when weather permits.

12. Metropolitan

13. Mint Museum Randloph
Dancing Lotus Yoga + Arts will lead you through a grounding practice every Saturday at 10am using DropSound noise isolating headphones.

Plus, head to Plaza Midwood for Ladies Lifestyle Network Spring Experience on April 23 from 11am until 2pm. Charlotte Pop Up Yoga will lead the class, followed by a journaling session.

16. Rosie’s Coffee & Wine Garden

Yoga with goats. That’s right, goats, at Sweet Grass Farm in Huntersville. Mats are provided, and newcomers are welcome, but you’re encouraged to wear a shirt with sleeves.

19. U.S. National Whitewater Center
Tuck Fest includes 19 chances to practice from April 29 through May 1. Details.
Memorial Day Celebration, May 28-29, features seven classes. Details.

Inspire the Fire’s FIRE FEST at Charlotte SHOUT! in Uptown will celebrate Black culture, music, art food, fashion and dance. Plus it will include a trap yoga class. Expect a vinyasa-style flow, with a live DJ spinning trap music.
