The season of love doesn’t have to be about romance.
We came up with three ways to celebrate love with your gal pals —or your bros— this upcoming Galentine’s Day.
(1) Go all out and host a Galentine get-together at home.
Supplies: Champagne, heart-themed decorations, chocolate, basically anything you can indulge on. If you want to order something special for the occasion, try one of these local shops:
- Stop by Two Scoops Creamery and pick up some red velvet ice cream pies.
- Or pick up a macaron box and chocolate-covered strawberries from Amélie’s.
- Skip a trip to the grocery store and order a Charcuterie box from Babe & Butcher or Off The Block.
(2) If your love language is gift-giving, you might want to pick out something special from a local shop or boutique.
- Bonnie + Bud is selling Valentine’s gift boxes.
- Good Postage has hand-drawn cards, you can order online or buy in-person at Camp North End.
- Get matching friendship bracelets or rings (ala Ariana Grande) from Golden Carrot.
More gift ideas: 50 local items for everyone on your list under $100
(3) Get a little extra with a pop-up picnic in the park or rent an igloo.
Styled by Saintfort takes picnics to another level. You choose the place, owner Toanna Gelin sets up, provides the low-table, pillows, rugs, and games, then she comes back and cleans up once it’s done. Styled by Saintfort services groups of up to 18 people.
- They’re offering 10% off for couples and 15% off for groups of four or more.

The Golden Globe LLC is a Black and woman-owned business specializing in dome rental and event planning. Owner Lattiesha Dark will set up, decorate, and break down the dome for you.
- Reservations can be anywhere from two to twelve hours, and they’ll even add food to your order for an extra fee.
