Apartment hunt: 4 rent deals in popular Charlotte neighborhoods

Living in Charlotte isn’t getting cheaper, so we scouted four apartment complexes with lower than average rent.

State of play: Average rent in Charlotte is $1,522 a month, according to the latest data from RENTCafé, which takes into account a number of factors, including location and unit size. And many neighborhoods’ average rent is well above the city-wide average.

  • The cost to rent at these four apartment communities is below their respective neighborhood averages.
  • Neighborhood rent averages are sourced from RENTCafé.

Presley Uptown (Uptown)

Average Uptown rent: $2,039

Presley has units available right now starting at $1,182. Here’s what’s available now and what it costs:

  • Studio: $1,182+
  • 1 bed: $1,602+
  • 2 bed: $1,897+

Highlights: Walkable to Uptown and midtown (Hello, Target), skyline views, dog park, rooftop lounge, gym.

Average neighborhood rent: $2,006

Hub has units available right now starting at $1,430. Here’s what’s available now and how much it costs to rent each month:

  • Studio: $1,430+
  • 1 bed: $1,780+

Highlights: Walkable to South End hot spots like Atherton, rooftop pool, two-story townhouses available.

Lincoln has units available right now starting at $1,387. Here’s what’s available now and how much it costs to rent each month:

  • Studio: $1,387+
  • 1 bed: $1,478+
  • 2 bed: $1,951+

Highlights: Large pool, two-story gym with yoga and spin studios, dog wash, game room.

Pine25 Apartments (Tryon Hills)

Pine25 has units available right now starting at $1,225. Here’s what’s available now and how much it costs to rent each month:

  • 1 bed: $1,225

Highlights: Quick drive to Camp North End, built in 2021, pool with lounge.

Of note: Fourteen townhouses are almost complete and will be ready for lease in February. The townhouses have three beds two and a half baths.

  • Rent is $2,500 a month for townhouses.
