most expensive home sales charlotte 2021
Even with another year of tight inventory, this year’s most expensive home sale set a new Charlotte-area record — $9.2M.
State of play: The other top sales of the year were in Cornelius, the lakefront town in north Mecklenburg.
- Of note: if Baby Biltmore in Quail Hollow sells at or above asking before the end of 2021, it will be the third most expensive sale.
Flashback: Last year, the most expensive house in the Charlotte region was listed for $8M. Christian McCaffrey bought the lakefront castle in all cash for $7.5M.
What’s next: For 2022, broker Josh Tucker sees demand in the luxury market holding strong, with a lot of interest from out-of-state buyers. There are many homes in the area worth more than $7M — they just haven’t hit the market yet, Tucker told Axios.
- “I think we will continue to see strong buyer demand and potentially see luxury home sales surge into the $8 million and possibly higher range,” he said.
