With its rapid expansion in distribution throughout the Carolinas, NoDa Brewing needs more space.
Construction will begin in late 2021 or early 2022 to add about 16,000 square feet onto the existing brewery on North Tryon.
The big picture: One of Charlotte’s oldest breweries, NoDa Brewing has maintained its focus on its home city and the Carolinas throughout its 10 year run.
- “We don’t have any grand plans to take over the world,” co-owner Suzie Ford tells me when I asked about distributing beer beyond North and South Carolina. “There are plenty of thirsty people in the Carolinas.”
This new investment “will take us to the next level,” Ford says.

What to expect: NoDa’s taproom will remain open throughout construction. Once complete, the brewery will offer more indoor and outdoor space for patrons — plus a larger and paved parking lot with 200 spots and Uber pick-up and drop-off points.
- The added space will also allow head brewer Chad Henderson more room for experimentation.
What else is new: NoDa Brewing also recently brought back its free brewery tours, which are held every Saturday at 3pm and 5pm. No reservations needed, just show up.
