Picture this: Party of 10, beer and wine, and 12 adoptable cats to play with. The dream.

How it works: Reserve your time slot on the Mac Tabby website. It costs $95/hour on weekdays and $150/hour on weekends.

• You can book the room for a casual hangout with friends, a birthday party or a team-building outing with coworkers.
• The cat cafe is kid-friendly, but a maximum of four kids ages 0-6 are allowed during a private room reservation. Kids ages 7 and up must have adult supervision, but there’s no group limit.

Drinks: During a private event, the attached cafe will remain open to the public and for you and your friends to pick up drinks. The menu includes coffee, smoothies, beer, wine, cider and a “Meow-mosa.” It also has fresh bakery items for sale.

The big picture: Charlotte’s first cat cafe, Mac Tabby just celebrated its 500th adoption. Its second location in Concord just opened in May 2021.
