Everything you need to know about Coin Bar, Charlotte’s only rooftop pool open to the public

Take a dip in the pool underneath Charlotte’s skyline at Coin Bar — the city’s only poolside bar and grill that’s open to the public.

Located on a landing of the Omni Hotel, Coin Bar offers rare rooftop pool access to non-hotel guests on select days of the week the summertime. Here’s what to expect:

Access: To get in, enter at either of the hotel’s two lobbies — the Motor Lobby on the ground floor of East Trade Street or the front desk on the second floor inside Bank of America Plaza. Then, once you get to the second floor, an attendant will pull up your day pass reservation and get you checked in.

Layout: The deck features a central pool surrounded by lounge furniture and tables. Couches are available for rental on a limited basis — DM on Instagram for availability. Behind the bar, you’ll find a game lawn with cornhole and pockets of lounge-style couch seating overlooking the Epicentre.

Big-screen TVs: Coin Bar’s monster double-sided LED screen, 22-by-12 feet wide, is visible from anywhere on the deck.

Menu: The food and drink menu are seasonally inspired and feature refreshing shareables plates and mains as well as fruity drink infusions.

• Get an order of the popcorn cauliflower and if you’re feeling boozy, go with the green apple cocktail.

Weekly events: On Thursdays, Coin Bar hosts a trivia night in collaboration with Carolina DJ that utilizes the big screen and your phone. It’s a great outing for a group of friends.

Location/hours: Coin Bar is located on the second floor of the Omni Hotel at 132 E Trade St. It’s open seasonally to non-hotel guests on Thursdays from 5-10pm, Fridays from 1-10pm, Saturdays from 11am to 10pm, and from 11am to 7pm on Sundays. The season runs from March to October.
