Rock Hill’s Ebenezer Park, a campsite and public beach on the edge of Lake Wylie, is re-opening after a two-year renovation.
The most notable addition to the 26-acre park is a new 10,000 square foot, semi-circle pier that extends into the lake. “It is a one-of-a-kind structure,” says park superintendent Pat Morrison. The park is now open ahead of a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 1.
What’s new: In addition to the new pier, there’s an expanded beach area, a beach volleyball court and new shelters available for rent for $35-$65.
Activities: Guests can swim, fish, paddleboard and kayak. And if you prefer to stay dry, you can sunbathe on the beach, have a picnic, toss a football in the green space or play basketball.
- The park also plans to host events like movie nights by the water in the future.

Cost: From now until Memorial Day, it’s free to park and visit. After that, parking will cost $5 per car for York County residents and $8 per car for non-residents. Season passes are also available for $30 for residents and $35 for non-residents.
Hours: The park is open 8am to 8pm daily.
Getting there: The exact address is 4490 Boat Shore Rd., north of Rock Hill, right on the state border. It’s about a half-hour drive from Uptown.
Staying there: Ebenezer Pard has 67 campsites open year-round with rates starting at $28 nightly for county residents and $31 for non-residents.
