Hawk Apartments South End
The Hawk, a new high-rise building with 71 apartments, is now leasing in South End. While the building has limited amenities, every unit is packed with next-level luxury.
Why it matters: Developers still have heart eyes for South End. Centro RailYard, the city’s first mirco-apartments, opened earlier this year. And The Fulcrum, which is still under construction, has apartment-like condos for sale, from $305,000 to $449,000.
Hawk Apartments, developed by Ram Realty, is a swing in the opposite direction, though. Rent starts at $1,905 for an 833-square-foot one-bed. For comparison, NOVEL Atherton, one of the most luxurious complexes in South End, has a one-bed available right now for $1,696 a month.
Design: The entire 13-floor building is made of precast concrete, which makes it more energy efficient and soundproof than your typical apartment complex. There are only six units on each floor to create a sense of privacy and exclusivity. You won’t find amenities like a gym or pool, but there is a lounge with a coffee machine.
Apartments: Standard features include a gas range, custom walnut cabinetry, balconies with TV hookups, giant warehouse-style windows with black out roller shades, and soaking tubs and rain head showers. You can also control the door lock, lights, appliances, and thermostat through an app.
Layouts/rent: You can choose from one-, two-, or three-bed floor plans, from 833 to 1,724 square feet. One-beds are $1,905+; two-beds are $2,893+; and three-beds are$4,823+.
Location: The exact address is 1932 Hawkins Street. It’s directly behind the Design Center (Hawkers, Superica, and Barcelona Wine Bar).
