Live music in Charlotte has made a bit of a comeback in recent months with drive-in concerts, live streaming, and pop-up outdoor performances.
Below is a list of where and when you can get your taste of live music again in December in and around the Queen City.

Middle C Jazz
Middle C Jazz will host 21 performances throughout December, with in-person ticket prices all $42 or less, and tickets to watch the concerts via live stream available for free or a donation. Check out the venue’s calendar for more information and to purchase tickets.

The Music Yard Fall Drive-In Series
The Music Yard, located in between SouthBound and Mac’s Speed Shop on South Blvd, will continue its Drive-In Series with three November concerts. Tickets range from $100 (4 people max) for a small sedan to $280 (8 people max) for a VIP picnic table.

Hound’s Drive-In Theater
Hound’s Drive-In Theater in Kings Mountain, just 40 minutes from Uptown, will host two December concerts. Individual tickets for additional passengers cost $25 and vehicle passes start at $50 for one vehicle and two passengers.

Saturday, December 19, 2020, 4 p.m.: David Phelps’ It Must Be Christmas with King’s Highway
Heist Brewery NoDa
Charlotte band leader and guitarist Stefan Kallander is back to hosting his monthly House of Funk, which takes place this month on Tuesday, December 1 at 7:30 p.m. Table-seated capacity is only 40 and tickets cost $6.50.
Soulful Noel at Camp North End
Quentin Talley’s musical revue features R&B, Funk, Gospel, and soul versions of Christmas classics and will take place at Camp North End on Saturday, December 19. There are two performances, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and tickets cost $28.

Josh Daniel Quarantine Sessions
Josh Daniel is still at it, performing live every day on Facebook at 6 p.m., as he’s done since March.

Queen City Streams Series at the Neighborhood Theatre
The NoDa venue has partnered with Mandolin for seven December live streams. Streaming is free ($10 suggested donation) and each event begins at 7 p.m.

The Neighborhood Theatre will also host Pat Travers Band for their Rockin’ House Party on Saturday, December 12 at 9 p.m. Tickets start at $15 and a portion of each ticket sold benefits Neighborhood Theatre and MaxxMusic.
Charlotte Symphony On Demand
The virtual concert series will come to a close this month with a final December performance. Tickets to the streams cost $20 each (free for 20/21 season subscribers) and are available for one week after their premiere.
