Apartments: What $2,000 a month gets you in three different Charlotte neighborhoods

We’ve already looked into what $1,000 and $1,200 a month in rent can get you, so we wanted to see what happens when you bump that budget up to $2,000.

When our team was talking about the idea, Michael asked, “What doesn’t $2,000 a month get you?” It was a good question. Turns out, $2,000 a month doesn’t get you more than a 2-bed in neighborhoods like South End.

But it also turns out it does get you a decent-sized unit in just about every complex in the city, even in South End.

Here’s a comparison of what $2,000 gets you in three different Charlotte neighborhoods.

The VUE | 1-bed | $2,018+

Most luxurious 1-bed apartment for $2,000 a month

Built in 2010, The VUE certainly isn’t Charlotte’s newest luxury apartment complex. But the high-rise still sets the standard for what high-end living looks like for Charlotte renters.

The complex has a 4,000-square-foot gym with multiple rooms and Peloton bikes; a spa with a sauna and steam and relaxation rooms; and a resort-style pool with a 35,000-square-foot tanning deck.

Other impressive perks include a private bar called the SkyLounge on the 50th floor; a putting green and golf simulator; and a lounge with a cafe. Plus, you can see the skyline, Panthers stadium, and Truist Field.

The apartments are spacious with 10- to 12.5-foot ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, insane views, and modern bathrooms and kitchens.

Move here if: You want to live in one of the most notably luxe apartments in the city, and want the best Uptown views.

Price per square foot: $1.97

Location: 215 N. Pine St., Uptown

Providence Row | 2-bed | $1,930+

Best value for a (luxury) 2-bed apartment

From the moment you walk into the lobby, you know you’re stepping into luxury at Providence Row. Near the main entrance, for example, there’s a coffee bar where you can order a drink (for free) Tuesday through Saturday. All you have to do is text the barista, and they’ll let you know when it’s ready.

Other cool amenities include a giant pool area with surrounding lounge spaces, a golf simulator, spa, wine cellar (and eventually a wine bar), and 2,000-square-foot gym.

The interiors of these apartments are stunning; you can’t go wrong with any layout, but the two-bedroom is a particularly good deal. The two-bed has 10-foot ceilings, custom closets, a giant balcony, and a completely custom kitchen.

Move here if: You just have to have it all — luxury design and amenities, square footage, and location.

Size: 1,240+ square feet

Price per square foot: $1.56

Location: 5350 Pinehurst Park Drive, SouthPark area

Wren Northlake | 3-bed | $1,772-$2,155

Most space for your buck

This place looks like the high-end communities popping up in Charlotte, at a more affordable price point. And according to Apartments.com and Google reviews, most residents give Wren Northlake at least 4/5 stars.

Some complex perks include a pool with water loungers, outdoor fire pit area, a hammock garden, bocce ball court, dog park, and a rec room.

The units have modern-style kitchens with granite countertops and designer hardware, spacious walk-in closets, and 10-foot ceilings. You can take a virtual tour of the 3-bed online here.

Move here if: You need multiple bedrooms, a homey feel, and luxe amenities.

Price per square foot: $1.10

Location: 8524 Mason Andrew Way, Northlake
