9/11 Flags of Remembrance Ceremony Virtual: This live-stream event will allow viewers to reflect and remember a day that will forever be etched into America’s history. The memorial will consist of a tolling bell at the prominent times of 8:46, 9:03, 9:37, 9:59, 10:03 & 10:28. A steel beam from the World Trade Center will be on display. Free. 8:30-11 a.m. Details.

Food Trucks at NoDa Brewing Company: Every day this weekend, NoDa Brewing Company is featuring a different food truck. Friday’s food truck is Strudelteig — an Austrian & Bavarian-inspired bakery and lunch/dinner spot on wheels. Menu Pricing. 4-9 p.m. Details.

Dane Page at Camp North End: Head to Camp North End to hear local singer, songwriter Dane Page perform with his band at their first show of the year. The Goodnight Brothers Band will start the show off at 6 p.m. and Dane Page goes on at 7:30 p.m. Masks are required. Free to attend. 6-9 p.m. Details.

Imagining a Non-Violent Charlotte Exhibit at 4100 Raleigh St.: The Charlotte Art League is launching an exhibit that uses art as a means of envisioning a non-violent Charlotte. There will be a panel discussion from 7 to 8 p.m. followed by a candlelight vigil in the parking lot to honor lives lost in the community due to violence. 6 p.m. Details

Intro to Kayaking at Anne Springs Close Greenway: Take to the water in this introductory kayaking class. You’ll learn how to choose a safe kayaking location, how to safely get into and out of your boat, and basic paddling techniques. $30 for non-members, $25 for members. 6:30-8 p.m. Details.

Big Daddy Weave & Zach Williams Drive-in concert at Hounds Drive-In: Enjoy performances from Big Daddy Weave and Zach Williams all from the safety of your car. Food and drinks can be purchased at the concessions stand. $100 per car. 6:30-9:30 p.m. Details.

Barnum – The Circus Musical at Stowe Park in Belmont: The Black Star Theater Company is bringing a two-night performance of “Barnum” to Belmont. Socially distanced seating will be available. Free. 7-9 p.m. Details.

Theater Charlotte Parking Lot Performance at 501 Queens Road: Join Theater Charlotte for its Grand Nights for Singing concert series. Bring a chair and refreshments, and enjoy a small concert in the parking lot at Theatre Charlotte. Maximum of 25 audience members. Social distancing and masks required. SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12

Charlotte Mecklenburg Storm Water Services – Second Saturday Volunteer at L.C. Coleman Neighborhood Park: Help keep our streams clean by volunteering with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Storm Water Services. Registration is required. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing. Free. 9 a.m. to noon. Details.

Group HIIT at Hodges Family Farm and Pumpkin Patch: Join licensed yogi and personal trainer, Amry Szymanski for group HIIT at Hodges Family Farm. Jump ropes will be provided and mats will be available for rental. Classes are capped at 10 participants to ensure safe social distancing. $20. 9:30-10:30 a.m. Details.

Walk to Defeat ALS:  The North Carolina chapter of The ALS Association is hosting its first-ever virtual walk to raise funds for ALS research. Teams will walk remotely, and connect virtually to band together to defeat ALS. Free, fundraising encouraged. 10 a.m.  Details.

Cousins Maine Lobster at Skiptown CLT: What better way to spend a Saturday than with a Maine Lobster roll, a cold beer, and playtime with your furry friend? Bring your pooch out to Skiptown CLT in Southend for an evening of fun while you enjoy a Cousins Maine Lobster roll. Free to attend. 5-9 p.m. Details.

Ellie Morgan Music at Reid’s Fine Foods: Enjoy live music from Charlotte singing sensation, Ellie Morgan on the patio at Reid’s Fine Foods in South Park. Free to attend. 6-9 p.m. Details.

Jerseys & Jewels: Huddle for the House: The Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte is hosting its first virtual “tailgate” experience. Jerseys & Jewels will feature RMH family testimonials, silent and live auctions, NFL jersey and diamond jewelry raffles, and NFL surprises.  $50+. 6:30 p.m. Details.

White Sox Watch Party at Truist Field: Head to Truist Field to watch the Chicago White Sox take on the Detroit Tigers on the stadium’s big screen. There will be a Chicago-style menu, beer specials, and free Truist portable chargers. Visitors can choose to sit on the field, in the Budweiser Home Plate Club, or the concourse dining area. A Dinner Date With Charlotte: As part of Charlotte Welcoming Week 2020, this dining experience will give Charlotteans a socially distant way to celebrate the immigrants and refugees in our city through food and storytelling. Participants will choose a restaurant or grocery store that is immigrant or refugee owned, and prepare a meal to enjoy at home. Donations from this event will benefit OurBridge, an organization that provides transitional support and ongoing services for the 600+ refugees and immigrants who come to Charlotte each year. Emo Night at The Music Yard Drive-In: Reminisce on your angsty teen years by heading out to Emo Night at The Music Yard. This drive-in, socially distanced concert will feature songs from My Chemical Romance, Panic at the Disco!, Blink 182, Fall Out Boy, Paramore, Good Charlotte, and 3OH3. Counterculture Club Outdoor Yoga at Camp North End: Head to at the Boileryard at Camp North End for an outdoor flow. This socially-distanced class is for yogis of all levels. Bring a mat, towels, and any props you may need. Hand sanitizer and water will be provided. $10. 10-11 a.m. Details.

Game Day at The Yard: Cheer on the Carolina Panthers and kick off the return of football season at The Music Yard. This watch party will feature a massive LED screen, music from Queen City favorite DOMii, and socially distant tables for a safe tailgate experience. Table-side food and beverage service will be provided by SouthBound. $20-$25 per person. Noon to 7 p.m. Details.

Roaring Riot Panthers Watch Party at the Omni Hotel Coin Bar: Join the Roaring Riot in rooting on the Panthers at this poolside watch party. Each ticket includes access to the open bar and an entreé. There will be a double-sided, 264-square-foot LED screen for your viewing pleasure, and a DJ rocking the pre-party and game commercials.  Masks are required and temperatures will be taken upon entry. $80 per person.
