The Auto Pour, a new self-serve wine bar concept, is now open in the Madison Corners shopping center on South Boulevard.
The Auto Pour (TAP for short) makes up 2,906 square feet of retail space in the shopping center recently rebranded as “Madison Corners” alongside popular tenants like Toppers Pizza and Jasmine Grille (sneaky delicious btw). The exact address is 5033 South Boulevard.
“We are thrilled to now be part of the Madison Park community and showcase our passion for wine and the Napa Technology WineStation, which is brand new to Charlotte,” says Megan Benny, co-owner and GM of The Auto Pour.
Selection: There are 64 wines by the ounce available to pour — the largest self-pour selection of wine in North Carolina. Pours start at $0.86 per ounce or $12 for a bottle and go up from there. TAP offers some wines from the state as well as wines from across the country and the world. TAP also has 18 taps for beer, hard cider, and hard seltzer.
Vibe: Expect a casual atmosphere with comfy seating and community tables with an industrial feel. The outdoor patio is dog friendly, and once it is safe to do so, TAP plans on having live music. TAP is also kid-friendly; it has a “kid area” as well as kid-friendly snacks like Goldfish.
“This is a no judgment zone,” co-owner Jenny Lucas says. “You don’t need to know how to properly taste or swirl your wine. Just come in and like what you like.” Jenny and her husband, John Lucas, own TAP with Benny.

Food: TAP also has a menu of snack trays of cheese and charcuterie ($7.50) as well as nuts ($2.50). The wine bar has a full kitchen so expect an expansion of its menu soon.
Coronavirus-related restrictions: TAP is operating at limited capacity with, at most, 40 people allowed inside. Staff is also cleaning tables in between uses and wiping down the self-pour wine screens.
Tech setup: The Auto Pour uses a Napa Technology WineStation and PourMyBeer Technology. It’s easy to use. Just get a card at the entrance and swipe it at each station to pour your own wine (or beer).
Shopping center: Madison Corners (formerly Seneca Place) is a 34,710-square-foot retail strip center along with a 6,600-square-foot outparcel that recently received over $1 million in capital improvements. New Forum Partners is the developer.
Hours: TAP is open every day except Monday. It’s open Tuesday through Thursday from 5-9 p.m., Friday from 5-11 p.m., Saturday from 3-11 p.m., and Sunday from 3-9 p.m.
