Coach Ron Rivera’s former home sold last week, after being on the market for just nine days. The sale is still pending, but the home was listed at $1.335 million, and multiple offers were made.
Quick background: After eight years with the Carolina Panthers, Rivera was fired from his job as head coach in early December 2019, with four games still left in the season. He’s now with the Washington Redskins.
Bryan Criminger at Allen Tate has the listing and said in the few days the home was on the market, they had five or six showings — all people who were seriously looking, not just die-hard Panthers fans.
Criminger said Rivera’s home sold faster than other Charlotte homes priced above $1 million.
“We did consider pricing it about $60,000 higher initially but they decided to go with this list price to make it stand out more to the market,” he said. “They did not want to take the chance that higher price could result in less traffic.”
In addition to price, the home was fully staged. Plus, it comes with big-ticket features like a private outdoor living space, a wine room, movie room, and spacious bedrooms — all things that likely contributed to the speed of the sale, Criminger said.

The exact address is 9212 Heydon Hall Circle. At 5,442 square feet, it has five bedrooms and five bathrooms.
The house sits on a little less than a half acre in the gated south Charlotte neighborhood Heydon Hall.
Since buying the home in 2011, the Riveras made several upgrades, including a Panther’s blue island and a custom wine cellar with a Panthers logo stained glass mosaic.
The interior is clad with marble flooring, textured wall coverings, and hints of Panthers blue.

The Riveras made serval updates to the kitchen in the last few years, including a new custom island.
The island has a built-in space for two dog bowls, refrigerated drawers, and a beverage center. Most recently, they added a new double oven and six-burner gas range.
