Million dollar homes selling on new 37-home community near Charlotte Country Club in Plaza Midwood

Grandfather Homes is leading construction on at least 15 of the 37 homes, and ARH – Monterey Bay Charlotte LLC is also contracted to build there.

New home details: According to a press release about the project, the style of homes can be describes as “rustic glam” ranging from European to American farmhouse slant — you can also create something totally custom.

“We have a progressive vision for architecture and style, but we’re respectful of the area’s past history so we remain observant of that,” said Matt Ewers, president of Grandfather Homes. “We have a host of designers and architects that will take our customers’ desires and blend them with our vision of respecting the past.”

Availability: Grandfather Homes is contracted to complete 15 of the 37 homes, and so far only eight are spoken for. There are 29 homes/lots still available with seven lots contracted to Grandfather Homes for custom/spec homes. You can check out the map here.

Price: Tons of buildable plans are listed on Zillow, and one completed home (3134 Cramer Pond Drive) is listed at $1,150,000.

Location: Cramer’s Pond is between Fort Street and Country Club Lane in Plaza Midwood, near Charlotte Country Club.

Fun facts about the historic home: The house, which is a 6,500-square-foot colonial revival, was built in 1937, and longtime owners George and Elizabeth Cramer — wealthy textile tycoons — moved in in 1948. They were there for 68 years and few architectural changes were made during that time. The hope is for the estate to be preserved and restored, though concrete plans are still in the works.
