Go inside: VeloPops now open in Matthews and serving made-from-scratch fruit and cream-based pops

The menu at VeloPops offers an assortment of fruit- and cream-based popsicles, two sizes to choose from, and a “Pup Pop” for dogs. Most fruit-based pops are vegan, and all pops can be dipped in milk or dark chocolate and are made right inside the colorfully decorated shop.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Popsicle Flavors: Regular sized pop flavors include strawberry lemonade, cantaloupe basil, hibiscus lemon agave, spicy pineapple, green tea ginger lemonade, watermelon basil, mint lemonade, avocado lime, strawberry, Arnold Palmer, cucumber mint, lime ginger, cookies and cream, banana cream, fudge, orange vanilla, banana split, pineapple coconut, banana Nutella, coffee caramel, Mexican chocolate and strawberries and cream. Mini pops are offered in strawberry lemonade, banana Nutella, vanilla and fudge. Current seasonal pops include grapefruit, lemon cream and blueberry lemon maple.

Pricing: $4 for regular-sized pops; $3 for mini pops; $3.50 for pup pops, and $1 for chocolate dip.

Tip: By far, their most popular flavor is cookies and cream (for very good reason).
