Mid-century modern furniture and design have seen a resurgence, but there are few homes of the style in Charlotte.
Real Estate Agents Michael and Rhonda Gibbons of Savvy + Co. Real Estate specialize in mid-century modern homes — they even have one of their own. And Michael told me when mid-century modern homes go up, they go fast — some sell before they even hit the market, Michael said.
“I have served five years on the Mad About Modern Home Tour home selection committee, so I know where a lot of the homes are,” Michael told me. “We seem to find them in neighborhoods like Lansdowne, Sherwood Forest, Town and Country, The Cloisters, Mountainbrook, Beverly Woods, Myers Park, Eastover and Plaza Midwood. There are others, too, sprinkled around including just north of uptown in Hyde Park.”
Here are 5 cool mid-century modern homes on the market right now.
2929 Belvedere Ave. – $2,194,999
Renovated estate on 1.6 acres
We’re loving the bright open floor floor and the master suite. There’s a fireplace in the bedroom, it opens up to a private patio, and the spa-like bathroom is a dream. The entire house is stunning — according to the listing, “it was originally designed by local modernist architect Charles Connelly, thoughtfully redesigned by R. Andrew Woodruff and meticulously executed by Peter Vasseur.”
- Neighborhood: Plaza Midwood
- Realtor: Hanes Walker at Sotheby’s International Realty
- Specs: 4 bed, 4 full & 1 half bath, 5,545 square feet

411 Landsdowne Road – $795,000
Modernized four bed home
We’re loving the update throughout this house. It was built in 1967, but there all of the bathrooms and the kitchen have been redone, and there have been a ton of other upgrades.
- Neighborhood: Landsdowne
- Realtor: Keith Rumbley with EverLamb Residential
- Specs: 4 bed, 4 full & 1 half bath, 3,119 square feet

4642 Sharon View Road – $1,490,000
Ultimate entertainers single-story
We’re loving the how the house is totally stripped down — you won’t find tons of ornamentation — but it still feels sexy, sleek and incredibly high end. From the Hans Krug walnut cabinets to quartz countertops to funky (in a good way) accent lighting, the house has tons of cool subtle touches.
- Neighborhood: SouthPark
- Realtor: Michael and Rhonda Gibbons of Savvy + Co. Real Estate
- Specs: 3 bed, 3 full & 2 half bath, 3,656 square feet

1219 Rama Road – $590,000
Open-concept modern masterpiece
We’re loving the fireplace. I’m always a fan of a cozy fire, but I especially like how dramatic this one is. It’s truly a beautiful focal piece and anchors the living space.
- Neighborhood: Sherwood Forest
- Realtor: Helen Honeycutt of RE/MAX Executive Realty
- Specs: 4 bed, 3 bath, 3,000 square feet

6038 Netherwood Drive – $320,000
Tri-level with tons of natural light
We’re loving the unique tri-level floor plan — it offers some privacy without having a ton of square footage. The house also has fresh paint, lighting and more.
- Neighborhood: Starmount
- Realtor: Michael and Rhonda Gibbons of Savvy + Co. Real Estate
- Specs: 3 bed, 1 full & 2 half bath, 2,037 square feet
