HI Tide, a fast-casual seafood spot, abruptly closes

I had no idea HI Tide was struggling. I went a handful of times and always enjoyed it there. HI Tide had earned a four out of five star rating on Yelp based on 105 reviews.

Although they still haven’t posted anything to Instagram or Facebook, the restaurant quietly closed. A sign posted on the door reads “Please bring all deliveries upstairs to Meat & Fish Co.”

If you were a HI Tide regular and looking for seafood, we recommend Sea Level, Upstream, The Waterman, Fin & Fino, Clean Catch and ROCKSALT.

The space, located next door to Dilworth Neighborhood Grille, was previously a deli and butcher shop named Meat & Fish Co. Given the small parking lot, it’s not an easy location to make a restaurant work.

No word yet on what will take its place or exactly why it closed.

“Wasn’t surprised to see Hi Tide closed,” said an Agenda reader who lives in the neighborhood. “We really wanted it to work, but that spot is the classic ‘location of death’ for a restaurant. Small parking lot, but even worse is the VERY dangerous pedestrian intersection if you try to walk there. Always feels like you’re pushing luck to cross Morehead and/or McDowell, even with the light. Especially if pushing a stroller/carrying a toddler.”
