Bakery known for its fried stuffed croissants now open near Uptown

You’ll find it at 1200 N. Davidson Street near Birdsong Brewing and right across the street from Area 15.

It’s the seventh location for the Elizabethtown-based bakery, with an eighth on the way in Raleigh in a couple weeks. The original opened in 2011.

Burney’s specializes in fried, filled croissants along with other sweets like doughnuts, pies, cakes and more.

Croissants are available plain glazed or filled with flavors like peach, cherry, chocolate, apple, Bavarian cream and more, and they taste like flaky doughnuts. Glazed croissants are $1.49ea  or $14.99/dozen and filled croissants are $1.69ea or $16.99/dozen.

Other menu features include a full coffee bar along with smoothies.

But we all know we’re here for the fried dough and sugar.
