Hall Family Farm is in the full swing of fall down in south Charlotte.
The Hall family has been farming this land, much of which was sold and developed into what is now Ballantyne Country Club, for nearly a century. It’s an unexpected breath of fresh air in the middle of Charlotte’s suburban sprawl just one mile from the heart of Ballantyne. The exact address is 10713 Providence Rd W.
While Hall Family Farms is also go-to strawberry picking spot in the springtime, the farm experience is all about autumn right now.
Hours (until October 31) are Sunday through Thursday 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays 9 a.m. – 10 p.m.

They’ve got musical hayrides, a 5-acre corn maze and a pick-your-own pumpkin patch.
There’s also a children’s play area with rubber ducky races, a kid’s corn maze, firetruck and fun slide. And you’ll find farm animals (goat and pig) to feed and must-eat treats like apple cider slushies and apple cider doughnuts.
It’s free to enter the grounds. Hayrides are $3.25 and the corn maze is $8 (both are free for children under 2), but you can get a combo ticket for both for $10. Pumpkins are $0.64 per pound and vary in size.
They accept cash and all cards except American Express.

Of course, no fall trip to Hall Family Farm is complete without an apple cider donut sundae ($2.75).
It’s a warm apple cider doughnut topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and caramel sauce. Pair it with an apple cider slushie for the peak fall experience.
To get the sundae, just order at the counter inside the little red tent, get a claim ticket and take it to the food trailer around back to claim your sundae.
