Bulldog Beer & Wine’s Dilworth location is now a private social club

When it came to the rebranding, owner Rob Johnson called it “the next logical step” in allowing him to please the customers that have been asking for spirits and draw in new ones that prefer them.

“As popular as beer and wine is, there are people out there that enjoy their liquor,” he said. The beer and wine menu, along with the grab-and-go options, will still be in place, just expanded to include liquors like tequila, bourbon, vodka and rum.

Like other private clubs throughout the city, the bar will be members only. Membership cards cost $1 per year, and will allow 5 additional guests in.

Johnson is currently working on developing a cocktail menu, which will include a signature cocktail, and it should be ready within a week or so.

The space’s character has been updated to reflect the change, and includes a new back patio, fresh interior paint and plenty of wood work.

“We’re taking the basement man cave look out and putting a lot of earth tones in there and making it more comfortable – upscale, so to speak,” he said.

Despite upping the experience, Johnson is firm in that the bar’s character won’t change.

“We are still very much the same spot where our customers can unwind while enjoying an adult beverage.”
