Customshop’s Trey Wilson debuted a new restaurant this week at Park Road Shopping Center.
Flour Shop, an intimate 66-seat restaurant with a central show kitchen in the middle of the dining room, is the latest addition to the shopping center’s rapidly developing Backlot area.
Midwood Smokehouse, Amelie’s, Rocksalt and Dot Dot Dot all opened here in recent years and Sir Edmond Halley’s celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2016.

A wide open kitchen is the restaurant’s dominant design feature, situated front and center and visible from every seat in the house.
Grab a spot at the bar to watch Wilson and his team in action.
You’ll get an up close look at the pasta production and an impressive rustic grill station. I’m still trying to figure out what the tempting plates of cookies were for and will be back to investigate further.

Flour Shop’s simple menu consists of fresh pasta and breads along with roasted and grilled meats, seafood and vegetables.
The grilled mushrooms served Caesar style are are house favorite and the coal-roasted acorn squash with fresh ricotta on toasted ciabatta is a perfect starter.
You can’t go wrong with a pasta and our server pointed out the roasted and grilled entrees pair nicely with the mushrooms, root vegetable ratatouille and crispy fingerlings as sides.
Prices are $10 – $14 for small plates, $18 – $22 for pasta and $24 – $28 for entrees.
