Cloosiv locks in 20 Charlotte restaurants and retailers for mobile ordering app

The company provides a Starbucks-style ordering and payment service via smartphone to retailers, breweries, coffee shops and other small businesses.

They’ve now lined up 20 local Charlotte businesses to use the app as Cloosiv prepares a public launch.

The service is expected to have a soft launch on January 1 with a bigger marketing blitz in February.

At quick-serve establishments like coffee shops, Cloosiv lets customers order ahead of time and skip the line.

For restaurants, the app lets people scan a barcode on their check and pay immediately. And for retail stores like boutique clothing shops, Cloosiv lets customers pick up a product off the rack and pay for it without standing in line.

Here’s a list of Charlotte businesses planning to use the platform:

• South End Grind
• Undercurrent Coffee
• Coco and the Director
• Lenny Boy Brewing
• Appalachia Cookie Company
• The Dumpling Lady
• Wu’s Cajun Seafood
• Blue Hem Jeans
• Run for Your Life
• Summerbird
• Fityoulous

Expect more big moves from Cloosiv in the coming months.

The company has five full-time employees and operates out of WeWork on Stonewall Street in Uptown, but that’s likely to grow soon. They’re expecting to raise a seed round in the coming months.

The Cloosiv team was also recently accepted to the VentureOut Retail Technology Accelerator in New York City.
