Smashburger is now open on Park Road and they’re giving away free burgers this week

The newest space moved into what used to be a medical building at 4444 Park Road, across from Montford Drive and next to Jimmy John’s.

It joins the Cotswold and Stonecrest locations with its simple menu consisting of burgers (veggie and otherwise), sandwiches, salads and milkshakes.

Those new to the chain should go for the staple Classic Smash.

It’s an egg bun piled high with a beef patty, Smash Sauce, pickles, lettuce, tomato, onion and American cheese ($5.59).

They should also know that the restaurant’s cult-like following will fill up the small space – and quickly, at that.

When I stopped by around 11:30 a.m. Monday morning, the 20-space parking lot was already full, leaving most customers to park on side streets and walk.

This week is the perfect time to get acquainted with the Denver-based restaurant.

To celebrate its grand opening, customers will pay what they want  from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today (100% of proceeds will benefit Ace & TJ’s Grin Kids) and receive a free Classic Smash tomorrow, September 27, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Yes, you read that correctly: Free Regular Classic Smashburgers tomorrow.

The restaurant will host its grand opening this Thursday, September 28, with the full menu being served at regular prices.
