Nothing, and I mean nothing, about the reserved, tidy brick exterior of the four-story brick condo building at Queens Road, Morehead Street and Edgehill Road could have prepared me for the listing inside.

As the penthouse in the Edgehill Condominiums, this $3.5 million condo already has excellent views. But its wildest views are found when looking up. Let’s go inside. No place in Charlotte has ceilings like these.

In a city where ‘style’ can often mean tearfully boring restraint, I’m excited to find examples of anyone going balls-to-the-wall with their look, whatever that look might be.
Not unlike visiting the Cloisters at the Met in NYC, there’s a lot of medieval mystery to see in this property, so grab a snack and put on your walking shoes.
I’m containing myself to the ceilings for this tour, which is hard, because look at the door frame on the entrance to the media room.

Let’s start with the stained glass above the billiards room. So much happening here.

Now on to the sitting room, the one decorated in the sky blues and golds.
Do you see the rainbow mural on the ceiling?

I will never again be cutting through on the way to Dilworth or the hospital without wondering about this place.
