Burgers at Dive N are worth the drive down to Pineville

If you’re a sucker for old-school diners, you’ll want to try the Dive N.

This breakfast and lunch spot is tucked off N.C. 51 right near the I-485 interchange (a 20-minute drive from Uptown with good traffic) but still flies under the radar.

The ambiance is stellar.

And inside, the vibe is very 1950s.

Try the burgers ($5.20 for a cheeseburger with side).

The full menu is extensive and I’ve heard good things about the fried chicken platter. But for your first visit, you’ll want to keep it simple.

I rank the taste below Brooks’ Sandwich House, but it’s a solid burger.

Watch the hours.

It’s only open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Saturday. No dinner and no Sundays.

Need another reason? I love any place that has a full roll of paper towels on the table.

They get me.
