Cowfish is often underrated (even though it’s always slammed) because it’s so damn hard to classify.
Is it a family spot or a date spot?
Is it fancy or casual?
Is it a guy’s burger joint or a girl’s night out sushi hotspot?
Is it a place to stuff your face or is it a place to drink a classy cocktail?
Is it a unique masterpiece or a scalable chain by SouthPark Mall?

While the atmosphere is solid (lovely fish tank), Cowfish has raving fans and a line out the door because their food is just really freaking delicious.
The full Cowfish experience requires you to eat both sushi and burger. Cowfish offers 10 signature “Burgushi” items ranging from $14 to $23.
Depending on your tastes, here are my four favorite ways to eat Cowfish’s Burgushi.
Fusion Specialty Bento Box ($16)
One of my top 10 menu items in all of Charlotte. If you’ve never been to Cowfish, order this — it’s their best menu item.

This combo meal features both burger and sushi, including the featured mini-burger of the week, sweet potato fries, Thai cucumbers, edamame and choice of a 4 piece Fusion Specialty roll (Mark’s, Firecracker, Blackened Tuna or Tempura Shrimp Roll) – or – 3 pieces of mixed nigiri (tuna, salmon and shrimp).

All-American Bacon Double Cheeseburgooshi ($15)
Although under the “Burgooshi” menu section, there’s no sushi involved with this one. But I still put wasabi and ginger on it – which now that I think of it, may be really weird. Whatever.
The dish includes seasoned all natural beef, yellow cheddar cheese, white cheddar cheese, applewood bacon, and red onion, wrapped in soy paper and potato strings then flash fried. Topped with ketchup, mustard, dill pickle and Roma tomato. Served atop Cowfish sauce. Served with house seasoned fries.

“The Prime Time” Filet & Lobster Roll ($23)
When you’re looking to go big time, this is the order.
There’s lobster and cucumbers inside, topped with seared rare seasoned filet mignon, pan-fried portabella mushroom slices tossed in truffle oil, green onions and spicy mayo. Served with a side of pounded ginger sauce.

Halfsies
While they don’t market this item on the menu, you can order a half burger (split it with a friend at the table) or a mini burger with half a sushi roll (typically 5 pieces). Most people don’t realize they have this as an option.
Cowfish’s most popular burger is the C.B.C.L.T, a half-pound beef burger, cheddar cheese, Applewood bacon, white cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, Cowfish sauce, brioche bun. A classic.
