Southern Tier + Victory Brewing innovation project has found a home in LoSo

A long-awaited “innovation brewery” from national beer brands Southern Tier and Victory Brewing has found a home — in LoSo.

The building currently known as the Bowers Fibers facility will soon be turned into a 28,000-square-foot brewery and taproom that can fit about 700 people. There will also be a patio with skyline views, an indoor/outdoor event space and a beer garden.

All this will be just down the street from Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, Queen Park Social and Sugar Creek Brewing.

These are big name breweries and this is a big project for Charlotte.

Southern Tier is the brewery behind favorites like the Pumking Imperial Ale pumpkin beer, Warlock Imperial Stout and numerous other classic and seasonal varieties. Victory has similarly built a national profile.

The two companies have been scoping out locations in Charlotte since they announced they were coming to the city in March 2016.

The Charlotte facility will be used to brew beer that could become specialty regional releases.

The building complex will also be home to a 31,000-square-foot office for SentryOne.
