Label nightclub will close permanently at the end of June. A new club will take its place.

Owner Lisa Bennett said Label will close permanently on June 30 after five years in Charlotte to relocate to Dallas, citing the larger market for the mega-club scene.

Label operations manager Michele Fisher said that the market in Charlotte changed.

They were seeing fewer VIP clients come in, a significant source of their income and brand appeal.

Fisher said they believe that Dallas will provide a larger customer base, a chance to obtain better-performing talent, and the opportunity to expand Label’s brand.

“We saw, at the end, the talent started to become more repetitive — it felt like we were bringing back the same people,” Fisher said. “We’re looking to change it up in Dallas. We don’t really know what direction we want to take it in, as we’re in the planning phase right now.” 

Plus, Dallas’s liquor laws are not as stringent as North Carolina’s, which provides more opportunity for Label’s sales, Fisher said. 

“We had to think about what was best for Label and best for the business to make sure we stay profitable,” Fisher said. 

Label Dallas does not yet have a set location, but it’s set to open in the spring of 2018.

Meanwhile, Label’s space will undergo renovations under a new owner.

Gennaro Vitale, who also owns the EpiCentre dessert bar and nightclub Kandy Bar is taking over the location. Vitale plans to reopen the club in September under a new name that has yet to be officially disclosed.

World Event Center is a name being floated, Fisher said. They’re also looking at putting in a pool to host day parties.

While we’re sad to see Label go, it’s not hard to get on board with a place that has pool darties. In the meantime, Label Charlotte will host their final club nights June 23-25, Friday-Sunday.

EDM DJ Audien is set to perform Friday, while Saturday night will be an international night with local Latin DJs. Sunday night is your last chance to hit up the club, when Blac Youngsta will be performing.

“Charlotte was a great proving ground for the Miami-inspired mega club with a targeted VIP and customer service experience,” Bennett said. “We are forever grateful for the opportunity and support Charlotte has given us to be able to build and refine the Label brand.”
