Hyde Brewing debuts “The Suffolk Punch” brand for its culinary cafe, coffee bar and taphouse

Hyde Brewing was conceived as a craft beer and craft coffee producer with a culinary cafe. The coffee side has a big name attached to it: Lindsey Pitman, who owns Trade and Lore in Asheville and NoDa.

Under the new plan, the Hyde Brewing name will still exist but will represent the “production” side of things while The Suffolk Punch will be the consumer-facing component.

Both brands will occupy one building, currently under construction across the street from Triple C at 2911 Griffith Street.

The Suffolk Punch is branding itself as a “Culinary Cafe, Coffee Bar, Taphouse and Fermentation Lab.”

Fermentation lab?

Yep, they are really getting down to some insane levels of scientific investigation into flavors. They will have a climate controlled fermentation lab focusing on zymology (fermentation process used in beer).

On an additional note, the group behind this is in the process of rezoning and purchasing buildings next door to continue their cultivation of creative space in the area.
