300 South Tryon will have a walk-up coffee window and an exclusive French brasserie

This 25-story tower plus an adjacent hotel has been underway for more than a year now and is finally coming in for a landing. Look for the tower to be delivered this June, with tenants moving in late summer/early fall.

Asset management company Barings will be the anchor tenant and take up the top nine floors. Spectrum Properties, which is developing the building, will also move its headquarters to the second floor.

The Kimpton Hotel will take the 18-floor building next door, with 217 hotel rooms.

The Agenda got a couple mini scoops on the project while taking a hard-hat tour.

Third Street will get a walk-up coffee window.

It’s not a Starbucks, but that’s all I know. I’m told we’ll be intrigued by the brand behind it. This window will integrate with the linear park planned to connect Romare Bearden Park with Tryon Street.

There will also be a French brasserie right on Tryon Street.

The developers tell me that this will be a European restaurant brand that will be opening one of its first U.S. locations here in Charlotte. This will offer private dining and be the type of place that Michael Jordan and Cam Newton hang out.

Bonus: The rooftop bar on top of the Kimpton will immediately have some of the best views in the city.
