The Sushi Burrito has already landed in Charlotte thanks to 7th Street Public Market’s Bonsai Fusion.

At $10 a piece and filled to the brim with things like spicy tuna, edamame, jalapeño and chipotle honey sauce, Bonsai says they make about 100 per week.

Now it’s the California croissant’s turn.
Mr. Holmes Bakehouse, out of San Francisco, recently released a croissant stuffed with salmon, seaweed, ginger and wasabi that sells for $5. On a weekend day, the bakery sells about 100.
Chef Sadruddin Abdullah, a former Johnson & Wales instructor, saw the idea and thought it would go well with the other unique bread and pastry concepts he’s introduced to Charlotte, his daughter Sajeedah told the Agenda.
“His goal is to find unique pastry concepts all over the world and to bring them to Charlotte,” she said. You’ve seen him do it before with the kronut.

Being both a co-owner of Cafe Ganache and the only person to ever win two national bread and pastry championships, Abdullah is one person in whose hands the task can be trusted.
He perfected his recipe and will bring it to market this week at a pop up shop next to upscale men’s salon Emerson Joseph in Uptown.
The croissants are stuffed with smoked salmon, wasabi, nori, spices and secret sauces and will go on sale, along with his kronuts, Thursday and Friday beginning at 10 a.m. The kronuts will be replenished, but get the croissants while you can – he’ll only make one batch of 100 per day.
