Aix en Provence offers a perfect date night option for Charlotte foodies who love dining on French food in cozy settings. Given the fact that this restaurant only holds about 50 diners and doesn’t have prominent signage, it’s easy to overlook it – don’t.
I love the intimacy of the restaurant – maybe 1,000 square feet or so. We need more cozy, neighborhood restaurants in Charlotte. By 8 p.m. on a Thursday night, all tables were taken – including a group of three businessmen having dinner at the bar.
Aix en Provence is somewhere between the #7 and #13 top ranked restaurant in Charlotte.

I also recommend pairing Aix en Provence with a pregame visit to Bond Street Wines, a super friendly wine shop about 100 yards down the street.
Aix en Provence isn’t a young, spot for craft cocktails and small plates, but for olds like me, it’s a delicious date night out. Cheers!
