ApartmentList is the Tinder of apartment hunting

Thanks to its constantly updated and verified information regarding rents and amenities in buildings around Charlotte, the guys behind ApartmentList take the guesswork out of trying to figure out where to tour.

Users begin by telling the site exactly what they want, down to size, location and features they can and can’t live without.

Other questions include specifications about salary, pets and work location. The ability to specify where I work and then pinpoint the distance I’m willing to drive has been the most useful.

Once the user’s rental profile has been completed, the website feeds answers into its algorithm to produce a personalized list of rental options that fall into a handful of categories, including best matches by rent, commute and features.

It’s visually appealing and incredibly useful.

Now the fun begins. Users pick a category to sort through, and opinions on the apartments help sort them into shortlists.

Each list includes availability, down to unit, and will show users floor plans and square footage.

The site will also keep users updated through e-mail and on-site notifications.
