This sandwich shop takes the space formerly occupied by Salsarita’s at the main entrance of Charlotte’s historic Latta Arcade at 320 S. Tryon Street.
I used to frequent Potbelly when I lived in Washington D.C. I’m a big fan of their toasty sandwiches and neighborhood vibe. Excited. The only real sandwich competition in that part of Uptown is The Sandwich Club – which does an amazing business (line is often out the door).
I anticipate Potbelly’s to be a huge hit with the Uptown lunch crowd.
Potbelly hours will be will be 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday – Saturday, and 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Sundays. A sandwich + chips should cost about $7. Salads will run about $8.
“You can feel the excitement here in Charlotte,” owner Shakti Patel said in a statement. “Opening the doors of the area’s first Potbelly – especially in such a historic location in Uptown – is a great feeling. Our team can’t wait to become a community staple, a household name. ”
Shakti’s franchise deal allows for 4 locations in Charlotte. He hopes to open location No. 2 this year and is scouting locations in SouthPark.
These custom Charlotte bench seats are a nice small touch inside Potbelly.
