This company will take those empty Christmas boxes off your hands for free this year

Give Back Box, a nonprofit out of Los Angeles, has teamed up with Amazon and Goodwill to take the clutter off of your hands for free and help others in the process.

It’s simple: Once the box is empty (it can be Amazon, but any box, really, is fine), fill it with things from around your house that you no longer need, print the prepaid shipping label and take it to the post office, UPS store or just leave it on your porch to be picked up.

Items that can and are encouraged to be donated include things like clothing, shoes and books – anything that will make a difference in someone’s life.

There’s no weight limit, so pack it as full as you’d like; the only things not allowed to be put in the box are liquids, fragile, hazardous or volatile items and ammunition.

Each box will go to the nearest participating Goodwill. For Charlotte, it’s the Goodwill on Wilkinson Boulevard.
