Inizio Pizza is coming to Dilworth

Pizza lovers, rejoice. A popular south Charlotte pizza place is making its way closer into the city.

Inizio Pizza will open a second location in Dilworth in early April 2017. The original location opened on Providence Road near Ballantyne back in March of this year.

Owner Grant Arons confirms Inizio will occupy a 3,000-square-foot space at the Dilworth Crossing Shopping Center on Park Road.

The rendering of the new building shows outdoor patio dining as well as a communal open air public rooftop terrace that will be open to Inizio customers.

Arons expects to hire on about 30 people to staff the second location.

Inizio is known for its authentic Neapolitan-style pizza.

The Polselli wheat flour type 00 and water used to make their dough are both imported from Italy, as are most of the toppings.

This is to ensure the water has the correct pH balance and mineral content to match that used to make pizzas in Naples. It’s topped with San Marzano tomatoes and real buffalo mozzarella.

Arons says to expect an experience consistent with that of the original Inizio Pizza.

The menu will remain largely the same but they’ll be expanding their gelato, beer and wine selections.

Arons plans to still have large communal tables at the new Dilworth location but, due to customer demand, will also work in smaller seating options for a more intimate dining experience.
