After finding myself tucked into a booth with a plate filled to the brim with perfectly greasy breakfast food at 3 a.m., I started to wonder: Does the late-night food scene in Charlotte get better than Uptown Cabaret’s $8 Midnight Diner buffet?
It depends on what you’re looking for and willing to see – I wound up there on accident when the line to get into Midnight Diner was wrapped around the block at 2:30 a.m., and after a night at The Roxbury, it’s always breakfast or bust – but for less than $10, you get a huge plate of food and, in no uncertain terms, a show.
So I’m going to say that no, it doesn’t get better because you’ll never get more for your money, but if your style leans closer to “late-night breakfast spots I can recommend to my friends without wanting to melt into the floor that aren’t Waffle House of IHOP,” here are your options.
